I've been kayaking for quite some time and wonder what I ever did before I discovered this great sport and all the great people I've met. Quiet water is my favorite because it allows me to indulge my other hobby, photography. I don't mind a bit of quickwater, but being able to soak in the scenery and enjoy the wildlife along the way is what draws me back to the rivers and lakes of New England time and time again. Favorite places to paddle? Everywhere! Each river, lake, pond or bog has its own special flavor. Exploring backwaters and tiny feeder streams can mean discovering an osprey nest or a heron wading in the shallows. Rain or shine it's always a good time on the water and the river can never be long enough!
